Congratulating the Smith & Howard Scholarship Winners!

We have several founding sponsors at Atlanta Tech Village, each participating and giving in their own unique ways to support our growing community. When Smith & Howard came to us expressing interest in getting involved, they wanted to create something that had a direct and meaningful impact on Village members and allow them to focus solely on building their businesses. Thus the Smith & Howard Scholarship was born!This 6-month scholarship covers all membership fees for the selected companies, allowing them to devote all of their scarce resources to growing their business, in addition to providing mentorship and connections to the S&H network. With this second cohort of scholarship seekers, the applicant pool was bigger and even more competitive than the first. The scholarship provides six months of free membership for four people in the Smith & Howard private office at the Village and two incredible startups were chosen: SparkMarket and Vergilis.Spark Market provides equity crowdfunding to local business owners. Vergilis enables local service providers to connect to customers in an accountable and convenient way. In the true spirit of engineering serendipitous interactions, these two companies have thrived off of sharing an office together. Both companies focus on empowering their local communities, and from day one they have worked together to connect to the community, from presenting at neighborhood associations together to networking together, and now Stanley with Vergilis is redesigning SparkMarket's website in exchange for some legal help.
