We will discuss how leaders can use what research has supported to increase job performance and organizational commitment in employees. Furthermore, we will present specific, usable methods of persuasion that are powerful and ethical. Leadership often requires honest but compelling persuasion.
Additionally, the best leaders are those that see the value of their followership and strive to put the needs of their followers ahead of their own. This workshop is intended to provide practical and tangible outcomes to existing and aspiring leaders.

About the Instructor

Dr. Elizabeth F. Clenney Chapman, Stetson School of Business and Economics, Mercer University
Dr. Chapman earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior/HR Management and M.B.A. from Georgia State University and her BBA from the University of West Georgia. While pursuing her doctorate, she taught Negotiation and HR Management at Georgia State University. Prior to obtaining her Ph.D., she was a Lecturer in Management at the University of West Georgia and worked in industry as an HR Generalist for a manufacturing firm. She has won numerous teaching awards in her career to include Beta Gamma Sigma Teacher of the Year and Student Government Association Teacher of the Year. Her research interests include negotiation, employee development, career success, and work-family conflict. She was the recipient of the Waino Suojanen Research Award two years consecutively at Georgia State University. Her work has been published in numerous scholarly journals including Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Negotiation and Conflict Management Research, and Journal of Vocational Behavior. She is an active member of the Academy of Management and Southern Management Association.
