“War Stories” Part I - Lessons Learned from Angel & VC Investments
“War Stories” Part I - Venture Investing
What Was Done vs. What Should Have Been Done
Learn from Bill Henagan, Founder and Chairman Emeritas of ATA, who helped lead the market development of Angel investing when ATA was formed. Be prepared for a lively and insightful evening that’s sure to include war stories, reveal battle scars and deliver a high ROI to investors, entrepreneurs and others with a stake in the new venture ecosystem from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the Atlanta Tech Village.
Nationwide, total venture investments over the last 2 years are believed to have crossed the $25B mark. According to the Atlanta Business Chronical, over $800M of venture funding from all over was invested in GA companies in 2015, up 70% from 2014.
Meanwhile Atlanta area VC firms have announced the intended raise of more than $300M. Though not easily tracked, the total angel investments over the last two years in the Atlanta area alone is believed to be in the $10’s of Mil.
So with more money going in, are we the investors also getting smarter with the money, both before and after the investments are made? And from an entrepreneur’s point of view, what do the economics and incentives look like among and between angel and VC investments.
