Security consultants Chris Grayson and Austin Whipple from Bishop Fox will present on April 23rd for Atlanta Tech Village on securing a startup. They will share resources and knowledge about where to start when planning how to most effectively secure a small business.
Their presentation will cover technical guides on securing applications, networks, data, as well as business-level decisions that can help reduce risk. This talk will cover best practices for security and risk management that are inexpensive and easy to implement early on in organizational development --but grow more difficult to change after an organization matures.

About the Speakers:
Chris Grayson (OCSE) is a Security Associate at Bishop Fox (formerly Stach & Liu), a security consulting firm providing IT security services to the Fortune 500, global financial institutions, and high-tech startups. In this role, he focuses on application security assessment, source code review, and secure software design. Chris was formerly the acting president of the Grey H@t Club and cryptography lead for the Mad H@tters iCTF team. Prior to joining Bishop Fox, he worked as lead developer at Sagepath, Inc., and a graduate research assistant at Georgia Tech. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a major in Computational Media and a minor in Computer Graphics. He also has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Austin Whipple is a Senior Security Analyst at Bishop Fox (formerly Stach & Liu), a security consulting firm providing IT security services to the Fortune 500, global financial institutions, and high-tech startups. In this role, he focuses on application security assessment, source code review, and secure software design. Austin received the Aspiring Security Professional from (ISC)2 at the ISLA Awards 2011, and won 1st place in the MITRE 2011 Capture the Flag competition. Prior to joining Bishop Fox, he worked as an SOC intern at Rook Consulting and as a research assistant at Brigham Young University. Austin holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from Brigham Young University with a major in Information Technology and a minor in Computer Science.
