About the Featured Speaker, Andrew Dorman

Andrew is a managing principal of Ethos Capital Partners where he focuses on investments in early stage technology companies. Since 2013 Andrew has sourced, structured, and managed 10 investments in early stage technology companies spread across Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado, and California. His investment experience includes convertible note, equity, and bridge securities with governance roles in several of the investments.
Previously, Andrew was the vice president of investments at Brand Properties where he was responsible for deal origination, financial modeling, investor relations, and portfolio management. He was also a member of the NoteSouth investment committee where he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and communicating investment opportunities. Andrew began his career as an acquisitions analyst at Centennial Holding Company where he directly assisted in the acquisition and management of a $600 million investment portfolio.
Andrew is a member of the Southeast Investor Group and Atlanta Tech Partners, and serves, or has served, as a member of the Venture Atlanta selection committee and Episcopal High School Advisory Council. He has also participated as a panelist or featured speaker in events hosted by the MIT Enterprise Forum and Technology Alliance of Georgia. His work within the local community includes, among other causes, serving as the Co-Chairman of the Admissions Committee for the Tour Championship at East Lake since 2012. Andrew received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he co-founded the Institute’s first multi-disciplinary graduate level real estate course.

Chris Maxwell is an associate in Morris, Manning & Martin’s Corporate Practice. Mr. Maxwell is active principally in the firm's general corporate practice, concentrating in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions and general corporate governance matters. Mr. Maxwell has assisted many of the firm's clients in structuring and consummating complex corporate transactions, including, mergers, acquisitions, debt facilities, financings, restructurings and corporate reorganizations. Mr. Maxwell focuses primarily on representing public and private companies, including private equity firms and their portfolio companies and family owned businesses, in general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital offerings.
